i9 Sports Took the Challenge!

Brandon, FL (September 15, 2008) The 2nd Annual Cure Kids Cancer Challenge took place on September 13, 2008 in Brandon, Fla. to benefit the Pediatric Cancer Foundation! The Challenge featured a 5K Walk/Fun Run and a 1 Mile family walk followed by family fun, entertainment and awards. Participants were encouraged to collect pledges to help find a cure! All monies raised go directly to funding the Pediatric Cancer Foundation’s Sunshine Project, a national research collaboration which has brought together the country's top doctors and institutions to work together in fast-tracking new successful treatments for children with cancer. Every dollar raised, every dollar donated helps bring us closer to a cure!

i9 Sports partnered with the Pediatric Cancer’s Cure Kids Cancer Challenge and raised more than $4,000 and had 22 corporate staff members and their families participate in the 5k Walk/Fun Run.

“The reason we chose to partner with Pediatric Cancer with this effort is simple,” expressed Founder and CEO Frank Fiume. “Pediatric Cancer Foundation and i9 Sports have the same mission which is to let every child play. PCF’s goal is to make every child cancer-free so he/she can play like every other child and i9 Sports gives all children a chance to play, whether they are sick or not.”

i9 Sports currently has five children playing in their leagues who are battling cancer. They play as much as they can for as long as they can. “Children battling cancer just want to feel like a regular kid without a sickness. Having the opportunity to play with the rest of the kids in an i9 Sports league gives them a sense of normalcy,” explained Lisa Andrews, Development Director of Pediatric Cancer Foundation.
