i9 Sports Association Awards 500^th Grant Giving Disadvantaged Children the Chance to Play

The i9 Sports Association is celebrating the 500^th grant awarded to a deserving family. A not-for-profit organization dedicated to letting every child have an opportunity to participate in youth sports, the i9 Sports Association awards needs-based grants to allow children to participate in i9 Sports programs at no cost.

A record number of families are turning to the i9 Sports Association to secure funding to ensure their children can play the sports they love. Applications for assistance increased more than 100% in 2009. Last year, the i9 Sports Association awarded 216 grants to families who did not have the means to cover their children’s enrollment fees, up from 98 in 2008.
